MOTHER TERESA
Give Her the poorest of the poor
give her the ugly lepers sores
she can find the beauty
she can find the diamond in the coal
she can look right through you to your soul
she can find the beauty
In the high heeled streets of the prostitute
in the dying feet of the destitute
she sees the Christ walking as her brother
in Calcutta they call her the Mother
she can find the beauty
in the old many lying in the gutter
and as the crazy bag lady mutters
She hears the Christ singing in her ears
she takes their loneliness and holds them dear |
